Terms of Service

Last updated: April 17, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Helm ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Helm is an AI Chief of Staff platform for engineering managers. The Service provides pre-meeting briefs, daily debriefs, team health signals, and on-demand research through a system of specialist AI agents connected to your workplace tools (calendar, GitHub, Slack, Notion).

3. Accounts and Access

You must create an account to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities under your account. You agree to provide accurate and complete information during registration.

4. Billing and Payment

The Service is offered on a subscription basis with three tiers: Basic, Plus, and Pro. Prices are displayed on our pricing page and are subject to change with 30 days' notice.

Free trial: New accounts receive a 7-day free trial. A credit card is required at sign-up. Billing begins automatically at the end of the trial period unless you cancel before then.

Stripe billing: All payments are processed through Stripe. By subscribing, you agree to Stripe's Terms of Service and authorize recurring charges to your payment method.

Refunds: We do not offer refunds for partially used billing periods. You may cancel at any time, and your access will continue until the end of your current billing cycle.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or other users' accounts
  • Use the Service to monitor, surveil, or make employment decisions about individuals
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service
  • Share your account credentials or allow others to access your account
  • Use the Service to generate briefings about individuals outside your organization without their consent

6. Data and Privacy

Our data practices are described in our Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you consent to our collection and use of personal data as described therein.

You retain all rights to your data. We do not claim ownership of any content you connect to the Service through integrations.

7. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its software, design, text, and branding, is owned by Helm and protected by intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for your internal business purposes.

8. Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." Helm does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Helm shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.

AI-generated briefings are informational in nature and should not be relied upon as the sole basis for employment, performance, or personnel decisions. Helm provides signals and context — not scores, rankings, or decisions about individuals.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will cease immediately, and your data will be deleted in accordance with our retention policy.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or through the Service at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
